What is a Good News Club?
A Good News Club takes place in neighborhood settings such as homes, schools (Released Time Classes and After School/In School Good News Clubs) and Bible Churches. For one hour, boys and girls ages 5 through 12 gather together with their friends to help them grow in Christ by hearing a Bible lesson, memorizing Scripture verses, being intrigued by continued missionary stories, singing songs and of course, playing fun review games as well as participating in contests for prizes.
The purpose of Good News Clubs is to help meet the spiritual needs of children by bringing the Gospel to them right where they are at, while helping to strengthen the Christian child in their growth and relationship with Jesus Christ.
School Good News Clubs:
Christians who are concerned for the spiritual needs of boys and girls volunteer their time and energy to teach Good News Club. They are trained by Child Evangelism Fellowship to be equipped to have a club that is exciting and informative. Teachers are asked to sign the CEF Statement of Faith and agree to abide by the policies of the organization. Adults working with the program are screened and have the state-required child abuse clearances.
What does it cost? There is no charge to the school, or parents, nor are there any public funds used to defray the cost of the classes.

School Good News Clubs:
- Released Time Classes: These classes are held by CEF of Dauphin County from October through April. Children are released from school for one hour per week to go off of school property as agreed upon by the School Administration and EDT, for what the General Assembly of PA calls "religious education."
- After School/In School: These clubs are held from October through April right on school property during the school year. They last one to one and a half hours and meet immediately after the school day, unless school is not in session or when children have early dismissal.
